Melissa, Hospital Manager
Melissa has been a member of the Leesburg Veterinary Hospital team since 2006 and one of our Veterinary Technicians until March 2016. Due to her experience in all of our departments and prior administrative and accounting experience, she was recently promoted to LVH’s Office Manager. Melissa’s goal as Office Manager is to foster positive relationships among our staff and with our clients and patients. "Strong communication between our different departments creates a happy work environment and helps us best serve the needs of our animal family."
Originally from New Jersey, Melissa gained hands-on veterinary experience working with six-month-old foals as part of the Equine Research Program at Rutgers University. At the same time, she also worked at an after-hours only small animal emergency hospital, gaining a tremendous amount of valuable knowledge. She has a special interest in wildlife and exotics as well and spent a year volunteering for the Blue Ridge Wildlife Center. Melissa has always known that she wanted to be an important part of a veterinary practice and has been gaining as much experience as possible in all departments since the age of sixteen.
Melissa and he husband have one daughter and share their home with two dogs named Jersey Girl and Dozer; two cats named Junior and Shady; and a veiled chameleon named Vincent.
When not working, Melissa enjoys hiking, photography, music, travel, and being an advocate for the environment.
Krista, Medical Records Manager
Krista has been an employee with LVH since 2005. She's held positions ranging from tech assistant to veterinary assistant and has filled in for CCA. For the last eight years, she has been the Medical Records Manager for LVH, a position that allows her to share a part of a team to help ensure the best care for our clients and family pets. "I love every aspect of my job. I have my hands in a little bit of everything, from the care of patients to the organization of the hospital."
Krista and her husband share their home with three adult kids, two grandchildren, two dogs named Jadah and Sage and one cat named Sloan.
Her interests outside of work involve going to the beach, hiking, traveling, and enjoying all of nature.
Krista's motto is "live, laugh, love."
Amy, Marketing Manager
Licensed Veterinary Technicians
Joanne has been as a licensed veterinary technician since 2005. In 2017, she earned additional certification as a Hospice and Palliative Care Technician through the International Association for Animal Hospice and Palliative Care. She shares her home with a wide variety of species including dogs, cats, small mammals, and a lizard. Joanne has a special place in her heart for senior animals and those with special needs.
Joanne's professional interests include nursing care for ill pets and those with special needs, and Fear Free techniques. She is also a Reiki II practitioner. In the fall of 2012, she completed a course in Tellington Touch. She enjoys volunteering as a technician at spay/neuter clinics. Joanne is a member of the International Association for Animal Hospice and Palliative Care and the International Veterinary Academy for Pain Management.
Joanne enjoys fostering animals for local rescue groups. She fosters guinea pigs for Small Angel Rescue's Twilight program, a program for guinea pigs who, because of behavior or health reasons, are unadoptable. She fosters cats and dogs while they recover from an anesthetic procedure and those with special needs. The answer to the frequently asked question, "How many animals are in your house?" can change weekly.
Joanne shares her home with some members of the Avengers, a professor from Hogwarts, and a companion from Doctor Who. (Her dogs are named: Nick Fury, Natasha, Barton. One cat is named Minerva. A guinea pig is named Stormageddon).
Joanne photographs more dogs, cats, and other animals while on vacation than historical sites.
Joanne's dream vacation is a trip to Kauai to work in MASH style Spay/Neuter clinics.
Joanne is very happy there are no Vegan Treats bakeries within a one-hour driving distance. She would have to buy bigger clothes.
Annie has worked in the veterinary field since 2003. She graduated with an associate degree in veterinary technology from Northern Virginia Community College in 2015. Annie also earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology with a minor in anthropology from George Mason University.

Amy, Veterinary Assistant Supervisor & Inventory Manager
As a member of the LVH team since 2003, Amy has worked in almost every department of our hospital and knows the ins-and-outs of the facility and operations like the back of her hand. "In the past seventeen years, I have learned so much, and continue to learn every day."
The veterinary assistants play a key role in keeping our appointments on time and aiding the veterinarians and technicians when needed. From preparing charts and obtaining medical histories from clients, to holding patients during exams, and to performing laboratory tests, the veterinary assistants are truly involved in every part of our patients’ care before, during, and after their appointments.
As the Veterinary Assistant Supervisor, Amy understands the challenging nature of this position and trains the entire veterinary assistant team to work efficiently and thoroughly to best serve the rest of our staff, our clients, and patients. In addition, she is also in charge of our pharmacy and in-house medication inventory.

Best vet in Loudoun! The staff here are just outstanding! Every doctor here is super knowledgeable and caring toward your pet. I was invited in the back on one of my visits and they keep the hospital immaculate. I would never go anywhere else!
My animals have been going to see Dr. Melburger for many years. The staff is also amazing. You can tell that they truly love animals as well and it’s not just a job for them. I would recommend this office to anyone.
I cannot say enough kind words about this place. Leesburg Veterinarian has a lifetime client here. Thank you again!
The entire team at LVH works hard to provide excellent care to my pets. Dr. Strickland and his team have been there for my pets for 20 years; from adoption to end of life. I highly recommend them.
I absolutely love Leesburg Veterinary Hospital. It is more than worth it for me to drive the 30 minutes to get there. Thank you guys soooo very much. You are phenomenal!
We just had our first happy visit and it was the most wonderful experience. The staff made us feel so welcome and just let us sit on floor and wander around. They truly care about their patients and about making them feel comfortable. I have recommend them to all of my friends for their animals and they are all as equally impressed as I am.
Visited Leesburg veterinary hospital when I wanted a second opinion and access to better technology. I am grateful for the peace of mind and although it is a bit of a drive I think I will be returning for regular care. Can't say thanks enough!
The staff and doctors were awesome and treated us with the upmost respect. They treat your pets like family and have all the concerns to treat them in a safe and healthy manor. Dr. Henly was Awesome!!!
I have been taking all my animals to the Leesburg Vet Hospital for forever!! I absolutely recommend them to ANYONE looking for a new vet!
