AAHA Accredited Veterinarian
At Leesburg Veterinary Hospital, we are proud of the work we do and are always looking for ways we can improve the care we give to you and your pets. That's why we sought accreditation as an AAHA practice. The American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) is the governing body for accreditation and is the only organization to offer accreditation of this kind. They hold animal hospitals to their rigorous standards of excellence, so you know that an AAHA vet offers the very best care for your companion. What it Takes to Be an AAHA Vet
Accreditation is not a requirement for animal hospitals. In fact, according to AAHA, only about 12-15% of animal hospitals are accredited in the US and Canada. While individual states do perform inspections of hospitals, this is done minimally, and standards can vary greatly between states. Our voluntary decision to become an AAHA vet practice is based on our commitment to animal health and the greater pet community. We know you value your pets like family, and we want to treat them as such. We give them the best care because we know that's what they deserve.
To remain accredited, we undergo an inspection every 3 years and are subject to random inspections in between. Everything about our animal hospital needs to be top-notch, and we wouldn't have it any other way. AAHA standards are set for every area of an animal practice including:
- Cleanliness and hygiene
- Surgical equipment
- Anesthetic protocols
- Dental care
- Pain management
- Emergency services
- And much more
We are proud to be able to serve you with the highest standards of veterinary care. Please contact us today for more information or set up your appointment to experience the AAHA difference.
