Diagnostic Services

You and your pet deserve the best possible care. This is why we have a state-of-the-art digital veterinary x-ray machine.

For complex medical cases, digital radiographs can be shared with board-certified veterinary radiologists via email.

Digital radiographs can be saved to a disk and given to you as part of your pet's medical records and/or quickly shared via email to specialists when a referral, second opinion, or additional diagnosis is needed.

Ultrasound is a pain-free, non-invasive technique that uses high-frequency sound waves to produce a real-time image of your pet's internal organs.

At Leesburg Veterinary Hospital, we use ultrasound for a wide range of diagnostic procedures. It is particularly useful in viewing your pet's abdominal organs including the spleen, kidneys, liver, and bladder. Ultrasound is also useful in evaluating heart functions and immediate emergent conditions.

To help guarantee a Fear Free experience, we make every effort to ensure comfort during these procedures by using padded troughs and blankets, careful handling, and at times, mild sedation for your pets.

In most cases, the procedure is relatively brief, less than an hour, and your pet is able to go home the very same day. Most importantly, diagnostic services can help us make an accurate diagnosis of your pet's condition and provide effective treatment recommendations.
