Diagnostic Services

Over the past few years, veterinary x-rays have become an efficient, powerful, and accurate tool in the care of your pet. Digital images can be taken and then displayed quickly on a computer for immediate viewing. The result is that diagnosing a wide range of medical conditions is made faster and far more accurate than ever before.

You and your pet deserve the best possible care. This is why we have a state-of-the-art digital veterinary x-ray machine.

Our x-ray machine is isolated in a separate room to protect staff and other animals from exposure to scatter radiation.

For complex medical cases, digital radiographs can be shared with board-certified veterinary radiologists via email.

Digital X-Rays:

  • Can be saved to a disk and given to you as part of your pet's medical records.
  • Quickly shared via email to specialists when a second opinion or additional diagnosis is needed.
  • Reduce your pet's time on the x-ray table because fewer images need to be taken.
  • Eliminate the need to use toxic chemicals in the film development process, decreasing the risk of exposure to our staff and the environment.

Ultrasound is a pain-free, totally non-invasive technique that uses high-frequency sound waves to produce a real-time image of your pet's internal organs. Often considered more exact than radiographs, ultrasound provides a movie of what is happening inside your pet's body.

Ultrasound is used for a wide range of diagnostic procedures. It is particularly useful in viewing your pet's abdominal organs including the spleen, kidneys, liver, and gallbladder. Ultrasound is also useful in evaluating heart functions, bladder scans and other areas such as the thyroid glands, testicles and mammary glands.

Ultrasound is also a powerful surgical aid; it can help guide us while obtaining a biopsy or removing a foreign object from your pet.

Our ultrasound is also kept in a separate, quiet area where proper time and concentration can be devoted to examining your pet. We make every effort to ensure comfort during these procedures by using padded troughs and blankets for your pets.

In most cases, the procedure is relatively brief, less than an hour, and your pet is able to go home the very same day. Most importantly, an ultrasound will help us make an accurate diagnosis of your pet's condition and provide effective treatment recommendations.

LaboratoryIn-House Laboratory

Our full service laboratory can be used to run tests, including: heartworm and microscopic cytology tests, fecal exams, urinalysis, CBC and serum chemistries, and more. We have advanced IDEXX equipment.

As the prescribing veterinarian for your pet's medications, we are able to ensure there is a direct link between the exam room and our pharmacy. This means your pet will receive the right medication, at the right dose, in the right form, as quickly as possible. We will also be able to easily guide you on the medication's use, as well as monitor its effectiveness.

We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos, flea and tick control products, and heartworm preventatives to meet the needs of your pet. We also carry a full line of prescription diets.

Ensuring that you have convenient and timely access to competitively-priced medications is an important aspect of our veterinary practice. You will be able to leave your visit with any medications your pet may need.

Refills are easy, too. Simply give us a call or order online and we'll deliver right to your door.
